Living Benefits Financial Services, LLC ("LBFS")
Living Benefits Financial Services, LLC (LBFS) is the oldest name and longest-running provider of institutionally funded life settlements in the United States. Life insurance policies acquired from seniors are considered an attractive, non-correlated asset for institutional investors worldwide. A portfolio of life insurance policies can be structured to meet a wide variety of investment needs.
In 2001, LBFS secured an initial provider funding facility of up to $400 million USD with Gen Re Securities, a division of Berkshire Hathaway. LBFS helped shape the secondary life insurance market from its inception. Additionally, LBFS has closed trades with funding from Institutional Investment Banks, European and Domestic Pension Funds, and Domestic Hedge Funds.
LBFS is a regulated life settlement provider operating exclusively in jurisdictions where it is licensed with a Life/Viatical Settlement Provider License. LBFS also requires the same standards from all of the entities that submit cases. The company acquires policies in states that govern life settlement transactions. In the absence of specific state statute or regulation, LBFS substantially complies with the overall standards provided in the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) Model Act.
After LBFS has acquired a portfolio, it is managed and serviced by Living Benefits Asset Management, LLC, which also manages and services portfolios for external third parties.
